Things are going very well for President Bush. God is steadily bringing him to the place where he must repent. His cabinet members, however, must be going crazy, with three major blows in as many days.
December 14 the President was finally forced to admit in public that the war in Iraq was caused by "faulty intelligence."
December 15 the President was forced to agree to ban the use of torture. Or should we say, he was forced to redefine "torture" to include physical pain on detainees. Previously, he was borrowng a Clintonism: "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'torture' is."
December 16 the Senate Republicans were unable to break the filibuster against the Patriot Act before the Christmas recess. The Act expires on Dec. 31. In 1998 when God forced President Clinton to repent (humble himself), we understood that he was repenting for his constituency--that is, half of the nation. (It was in his presidency that the nation completely polarized and split in half.) We then realized that the next president would be Mr. Bush and that God would ultimately cause him to repent for the other half of the nation--his constituency.
Each had to repent of different things. President Clinton had to repent for America's immoral behavior, on behalf of his core constituency. President Bush, on the other hand, has to repent for America's support for Israeli terrorism since the 1940's.
Neither president repented in his first term. So in both cases, we understood that each would have to serve a second term.
President Clinton was the 42nd President. President Bush is the 42nd man to be President. (This is because Grover Cleveland was both the 22nd and the 24th President.) The number 42 is of particular interest to us.
In the past year I have been studying the Psalms to get a better idea of the biblical meaning of numbers. The number of the psalm gives us a lot of clues, especially when we understand the basic structure of the psalms. The psalms are divided into 5 distinct books, separated by a Doxology. These 4 psalm books correlate with the 5 books of the law. The "Genesis Book of Psalms" is Psalm 1-41. The "Exodus Book of Psalms is Psalm 42-72. And so on.
Each psalm thus can be correlated with a distinct biblical event. This greatly enhances the meaning of the psalm.
The only confusing thing is that the psalms are not properly numbered in most of our Bibles. The order is correct, but Psalm 9 and 10 are two halves of the same psalm, so actually, Psalm 11 is the tenth psalm. Get the idea? That means, if we want to see the 42nd psalm, we have to actually go to Psalm 43. (This is how the Septuagint Version numbers the psalms. The Septuagint is the Greek translation of the Old Testament that was begun about 280 B.C. It was the King James Bible of Jesus' day.)
If you read Psalm 43 (the 42nd psalm), you will find a remarkable application to President Bush, the 42nd President. Psalm 43 correlates with the Exodus Book of Psalms and speaks of Moses being called to deliver Israel from their bondage of Egypt. When President Bush was inauguarated, he was compared to Moses. I do not doubt the comparison, insofar as he is called in a backhanded way to lead America out of its bondage--but first he must repent. We saw this repentance coming in March 2001, when God told us to begin to pray a simple prayer, "God bless America." By September of that year, everyone was praying it. You couldn't drive down the street without seeing it on signs everywhere. I even saw Alan Greenspam singing "God Bless America" with all the other politicians. Everyone was getting into the patriotic act because of 9-11. But what they didn't realize is that they were officially calling upon God to cause them to repent. They didn't know how God blesses people.
Acts 3:25, 26 says, "It is you who are the sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.' 26 For you first, God raised up His Servant, and sent Him to BLESS YOU BY TURNING EVERY ONE OF YOU FROM YOUR WICKED WAYS." So God used 9-11 to trick our government officials into praying that He would turn them away from their wicked ways! I believe that God will indeed answer that prayer. In fact, I knew that He would answer that prayer six months earlier in March 2001 when He told us to begin praying "God Bless America."
The roots of the current problem with terrorism in the world today is this: It was Jewish terrorism in the 1940's, led by Menachem Begin's Irgun Gang and Yitzhak Shamir's Stern Gang that ultimately forced the British to leave Palestine. Thus, the Israeli State was founded on terrorism. As Jesus said in Matt. 26:52, "Those who live by the sword will die by the sword." (For details, see my book, "The Struggle for the Birthright," posted online.)
President Bush needs to recognize that he cannot fight Arab terrorism while supporting Jewish terrorism. The Bible makes it very clear that our judgments must not be partial. (Ex. 23:1-8; Mal. 2:9; James 2:4) Jews are not God's privileged people. The biblical prophets make that very clear.
This world problem is now coming to a head. We are in the forefront insofar as prayer, intercession, and spiritual warfare is concerned. It is my heart's desire to see President Bush repent on behalf of America's foreign policy over the past 60 years. I believe that God is rapidly bringing this to pass.
