When the "floodgates" open, it would be reasonable to expect to see the world system in trouble and the Kingdom of God emerging in the power of the Spirit.
Ten years ago we began to see the signs of this. In my book, Secrets of Time, I called the ten-year cycle the Hezekiah Factor, because it is like turning the clock back ten degrees (lit. "ten steps" on the sun dial of Ahaz), which prophetically depicts turning the clock back ten years. See 2 Kings 20:9, 10.
And so the year 2006 is like 1996 is some prophetic ways. On Sept. 2, 1996 the Word went forth that "the floodgates have been opened." Perhaps last year's Hurricane Katrina that hit New Orleans on Aug. 29, causing a flood, was an early sign of this. New Orleans, "the golden city," can easily be seen as a type of Babylon and also of Tyre, the city sitting "in the midst of the seas," (Ez. 28:2) but which was thrown into the sea (Ezekiel 27:27, 32). Both cities were types of Mystery Babylon in the book of Revelation: Babylon, because of its oppressive greatness, and Tyre because of its commerce.
As for the overthrow of the world system, it really hinges primarily on America. If America catches a cold, the world will catch the bird flu. The dollar has begun a serious collapse, which is probably the real reason why the Fed is continuing to raise interest rates. They need to pay more to those nations holding dollars in reserve and make it more attractive to purchase U.S. bonds (debt).
China, for instance, holds the largest amount of U.S. debt of any foreign country. They find themselves between a rock and a hard place. Their economy is being driven by exports to America, with Walmart leading the way. But this is causing such a huge trade imbalance that it is one of the leading causes of the dollar's collapse. Yet if they begin to dump dollars, it will only make the problem worse. So they are stuck with a huge wad of dollars that are becoming worth less and less. Yet they cannot afford to help kill the goose laying all those golden eggs for them.
Also, our "war on terror" is forcing us to spend hundreds of billions of dollars extra on military matters, glutting the foreign markets with more dollars and undermining confidence in the dollar. How long can this go on? I don't know. I'm not an economist, nor even do economists seem to know the answer. America has proven to be quite resilient for a long time, defying all the dire predictions up to now.
Yet the recent meteoric rise in the price of commodities such as oil and metals does not simply mean that those commodities are more valuable. Rather, it means that the dollar is less valuable, and it takes more dollars now to purchase those things. The big rise in commodity prices ought to be viewed as a drop in the value of the dollar.
At the same time, we are seeing signs of the emerging Kingdom of God. These are not signs that government officials would value. Such revelation is not meant for most of them but for us. Many prophets are now prophesying a great outpouring of the Spirit this year. I myself have no direct word on this, but I do see indirect signs that point to this outpouring as a soon-coming event.
Jesus made one very unique statement in Matthew 12:28, "But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you."
In some way this type of ministry, regardless of how one interprets it, indicates the coming of the Kingdom of God. Two years ago I was called upon to deal with a woman who had been demonically oppressed from her childhood when she was dedicated to Satan. She had suffered for three decades and had been to preachers, psychiatrists, medical doctors, all to no avail. After praying for divine guidance, I was shown what particular spirit was oppressing her and what to do about it. I simply followed the basic pattern of action that Jesus took, as it is written in Scripture.
After that spirit was removed, I prayed for her healing. The great weight was lifted off her shoulders, and she could sit up straight without effort. Her deaf ear "popped," and suddenly everything got very "loud" to her. Her color blindness was suddenly healed, and she thought I had turned up the lights. Later, she excitedly told me (and showed me) that she could now eat properly. I had not realized it before, but it had been nearly impossible for her to hit her mouth with a fork. Food would spill all over at every meal. But that too had been healed.
That incident was somewhat unusual. I do not go around looking for demons to cast out. Years go by without my seeing anything like that first hand, though I have personally witnessed such things since 1971. Some of these manifestations make a person feel like he is watching Ripley's Believe It or Not.
At any rate, this past March (2006) I was called again to deal with the same woman. There was a deeply hidden spirit of bitterness that had not been dealt with two years ago. It had remained hidden until certain circumstances brought it to the surface and was causing a physical problem in her knee. I dealt with it in the same basic manner, and she was then able to walk again. When physical problems have spiritual causes, they are often the easiest to resolve.
So, whereas we dealt with the most major problem two years ago, it was not until March 15, 2006 that we pulled up the "root of bitterness" (Heb. 12:15). This is the same root that plagued Esau-Edom, as the verse says. This deliverance occurred on the 2,520-year anniversary of the completion of the second temple in the days of Ezra. Ezra 6:15 says the temple was finished on the third day of the month Adar in the sixth year of Darius, king of Persia. Historians have calculated this to be March 15, 515 B.C. on our calendar.
If you do the math, 2,520 years later is 2006 (keeping in mind that there is no year zero, so you have to add a year). 2,520 minus 515 = 2005 1 = 2006. I wrote quite a bit about this 2,520-year cycle in my series last March on "The Prophetic History of the United States."
This cycle really began to emerge in 1776, and we have now reached the next major culmination point of U.S. history. It may prove to be the final one, for it marks the time of Haggai's prophecy beginning to be fulfilled. Haggai is the prophet of the feast of Tabernacles. In fact, his name means "festival" or Feast Day. I did three audio tapes back in 1998 on the book of Haggai, outlining the years 2001-2006 as the time of building of the true Temple. I also made it clear that this was not a reference to any physical temple in the old Jerusalem.
I believe that this Temple of the Body of Christ has now been completed, and we have now entered the time of building and cleansing the "vessels" of that temple. God is preparing His people--His Temple--for the outpouring of the Spirit.
So the bottom line is that I am suggesting that you begin to seriously prepare your hearts for the new thing that God is about to do in the earth. I do not know when, but we are seeing the signs of rain, and I am convinced that the outpouring of the Spirit is coming soon. God is getting ready to open the floodgates to pour upon us the greatest blessing the world has ever seen.
