There are many non-Zionist Jews who loudly proclaim that Zionism represents an apostasy from Judaism. Of this I have no doubt, insofar as Judaism taught that Jews were NOT to attempt a return to Palestine until the Messiah had come. Yet in another way Zionism as a method of conquest is very much rooted in the way much of Judaism teaches about non-Jews.
Judaism tends to produce people who think they have a divine right to rule others as their slaves. This is the normal attitude of monarchies and oligarchies, of course, and we see it in so-called democracies as well. But in Judaism, the problem is compounded by the ruthless genocidal policies of the Old Covenant in the original conquest of Canaan. At first glance, this policy appears to be sanctioned by the God of Heaven. Certainly, this is the primary motive for the oppressive and genocidal Zionist treatment of the Palestinians today.
I have written about this in various articles and books, showing that God offered Israel the Sword of the Spirit at Mount Sinai on the day that He came down as fire and spoke the Ten Commandments. This day came to be celebrated as the feast of weeks, later known by the Greek name, Pentecost. But the people of that day ran and refused the Holy Spirit (Ex. 20:18-21), so they were left only with a physical sword with which to conquer Canaan. Thus, it took another 1500 years before the Sword of the Spirit was actually accepted, and this was in the upper room in the account of Acts 2.
Thus, having rejected the spiritual sword--the sword from the mouth--Israel had to conquer Canaan by physical weapons. If they had had the spiritual sword, they would have conquered by the Gospel, the Word of God, the "fiery sword" that comes from the mouth. They would have been given the Great Commission (Mark 16:15). It was never the perfect will of God to slaughter the Canaanites, regardless of how corrupt or sinful they may have been. No one is beyond God's ability to save. But under the Old Covenant, Israel was severely limited in its ability to perform the will and mind of God. That is the only reason God told them to conquer Canaan with the sword. Such a method does not represent the mind of God, but manifests the failure of Israel to receive the Holy Spirit at Mount Sinai.
For this reason it is imperative that we understand the New Covenant, for it brings us a much greater ability to fulfill the mind of God. It replaces the physical sword with the Sword of the Spirit. The conquest of the world is by the Gospel of Christ that expresses the love of God and his passion ("fire") for the whole world. When Christians become carnally minded, they tend to revert back to Old Covenant methods and thereby justify the bloody practices of Zionism today.
Thus, one Jewish rabbi envisions (in the Talmud) the day of triumph over the world, when every Jew will have 2,500 slaves. Personally, I prefer not to become one of those slaves. I do not want to be enslaved to someone who despises me.
Dr. Shahak tells us on page 88 of his 1994 book, Jewish History, Jewish Religion, "all Gentile women are presumed to be prostitutes." Again, he says on the same page, "Gentiles are presumed to be congenital liars, and are disqualified from testifying in a rabbinical court." On page 96 he writes,
"Anyone who lives in Israel knows how deep and widespread these attitudes of hatred and cruelty towards all Gentiles are among the majority of Israeli Jews."
The late Dr. Shahak was the emeritus professor of organic chemistry at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Having lived there, he knew these things by personal knowledge. On page 27 of his book, he mentions the Judaistic idea that non-Jews have "satanic souls."
"As an example, let us take the famous Hatanya, fundamental book of the Habbad movement, one of the most important branches of Hassidism. According to this book, all non-Jews are totally satanic creatures 'in whom there is absolutely nothing good.' Even a non-Jewish embryo is qualitatively different from a Jewish one. The very existence of a non-Jew is 'inessential,' whereas all of creation was created solely for the sake of the Jews."
This book is widely circulated in the Lubavitcher movement founded by the late Rabbi Schneerson of New York City.
In Dr. Shahak's book, Jewish Fundamentalism, page 60, he writes further about this:
"Two contrary types of soul exist, a non-Jewish soul comes from three satanic spheres, while the Jewish soul stems from holiness.
"As has been explained, an embryo is called a human being, because it has both a body and soul. Thus, the difference between a Jewish and a non-Jewish embryo can be understood. There is also a difference in bodies. The body of a Jewish embryo is on a higher level than is the body of a non-Jew. . . A Jew was not created as a means for some [other] purpose; he himself is the purpose, since the substance of all [divine] emanations was created only to serve the Jews. 'In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth' [Genesis 1:1] means that [the heavens and the earth] werecreated for the sake of the Jews, who are called 'the beginning'."
From this we see the fate of the non-Jewish world if Judaism were ever to gain ascendancy over the world. This is ultimately what Zionism is about. Whereas Judaism itself merely believed that God would enslave the world to them, Zionism sets out to achieve this goal by force of arms. Christian Zionists fall over themselves in the attempt to help them achieve this goal, thinking that at the last minute they will all turn to Christ. Yet they also teach that the "Age of Grace" is ending, and that the "Age of Law" is yet to come.
This view undermines the New Covenant itself, for it implies that the New Covenant was a temporary blip on the calendar of history. It implies that the Jews will rule under Jesus Christ but under the Old Covenant, complete with a physical temple, a Levitical priesthood, and animal sacrifices. And no pesky Palestinians.
Along with this dispensationalist teaching is the more recent Dual Covenant theology, in which Christians have begun to move toward the idea that Christians are saved by the New Covenant, while Jews are saved by the Old Covenant. Then, at the coming of Christ, Christians will no longer be able to be saved by the New Covenant, for they will have to be subject to their Jewish masters, who will rule them by the Old Covenant. Thus ends the so-called "Age of Grace."
In such a Jewish Utopia, Jews would have the right to take any property that they chose, and, of course, at least 2,500 slaves of their own choosing. Thus, the Talmudic writing, Shulhan Aruch, composed in the 16th century by Rabbi Yosef Karo, says,
"All property of other nations belongs to the Jewish nation, which consequently is entitled to seize upon it without any scruples. An Orthodox Jew is not bound to observe the principles of morality towards people of other tribes. He may act contrary to morality, if profitable to himself or to Jews in general."
This is the basic mindset upon which modern Zionism is based. It comes from Judaism, and the only real difference is that Zionists became tired of waiting for God to do it for them. Thus, they took up the Old Covenant sword and have made it happen.
This, unfortunately, is what Christian Zionists are supporting today. Because they think Jews will all become Christians any day now, they are supporting theft and murder, thinking that this is the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. And anyone who objects is said to be "antisemitic." Well, Dr. Israel Shahak objected, too. Thank God there are some Jews who denounce Jewish racism and Jewish supremacism.
