The Jordanians believe that America will not give the Israelis a green light to attack Iran. (In other words, the light will remain amber.)

They say that because of economic concerns, the American government will tell the Israelis that they are on their own.
Of course, keep in mind that the government is run by real people, and those real people do not necessarily have America's best interests in mind. With our government overloaded with Israeli agents, who are more loyal to the Israeli state than to America, the Jordanian logic may not really be applicable.
Nonetheless, I do agree that as the economic crisis here deepens, it makes it more difficult to "sell" such a war to the American people. Perhaps God is behind this economic crisis and is using it to keep us out of a direct war with Iran.
But even if the Israelis end up attacking Iran on their own, America will share the blame in the eyes of the world, because America is and has been their financier and supplier of weapons for decades.
Nonetheless, I wonder if the Israelis really understand how such an attack, with its obvious economic impact upon the world (and America), will affect the people's view of the Israelis, Zionism as an ideology, Christianity as an ally of Zionism, and even the Jewish people as a whole.
It seems to me that the Israelis are between a rock and a hard place. If they do nothing, they will have a rival nuclear power in the region to threaten their military supremacy. If they attack, they will be seen as the direct cause of the worst economic chaos in world history. They would prefer that America do their dirty work for them, but it may be that the only way to put American opinion on their side would be for another 9-11 situation to occur, for which the Iranians could be blamed.
But when the people actually experience that disruption in their personal lives, they will quickly forget the ideological causes for going to war. 9-11 was good enough in 2001, but it is not likely that the people will tolerate for long another excuse for war. They will begin asking who is behind all of this. They will resent whoever they feel is to blame. No matter what happens, the real fallout from this coming war will be that world opinion will turn against the Jews in general, with Christians taking a beating as well for backing the Zionist program of Middle East conquest.
The irony is that we who have opposed Zionism for years may end up having to harbor Jews from the wrath of the populace.
