The almond tree in the first chapter of Jeremiah signifies the authority God was giving the prophet to tear down nations and to rebuild the Kingdom of God. The almond rod in Numbers 17 signified theconfirmation of Moses' authority.
Authority comes with one's calling. With us as individuals, authority is normally limited to the specific area of our callings. But when we take this concept out of the realm of the individual person and look at the collective body of Christ, we then see the full authority of the King.
When God came down as fire upon Mount Sinai on the day that later was known as Pentecost, it was the day that God called Israel. He "chose" them to rule the earth, to be a priestly nation to them, to lead by example, to dispense the revelation of God, and to put all things under the feet of Christ. Crowned by fire, this was their priestly garment of "glory and beauty" (Ex. 28:2).
Hebrews 2:9 quotes this from the Septuagint: "glory and honour." The Hebrew word translated "beauty" is tipharah, which the Septuagint translates into Greek by the word temay, "honour." Hence, Aaron's garments signified "glory and honour." Even as Joseph's coat of many colors signified his calling as the Birthright holder, so also Aaron's garments signified his calling.
Aaron the high priest represented the house of Israel, "the kingdom of priests and a holy nation" (Ex. 19:6). In the same manner, Moses represented the office of ruler or king, which was the same position of Israel as a nation in regard to the rest of the nations. Such was the calling of Israel.
The Birthright tribe of Ephraim was the first to house the glory of God in the town of Shiloh (Joshua 18:1). When the priesthood became corrupt in the days of Eli, the glory departed (1 Sam. 4:22), and the Ark was later given to Judah in Jerusalem (Ps. 78:60-68). Centuries later, Jerusalem lost the glory as well, for they had turned the temple into a den of robbers (Jer. 7:11-15). Ezekiel saw the glory depart from the temple (Ez. 11:23).
The glory of God finally rested upon the disciples in the upper room on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4), and from that point on, His Name was in their foreheads (Rev. 22:4). Like Israel of old, the day of Pentecost was their coronation, crowning them as a body with the glory and honour as priests and kings.
The problem was that even Pentecost was insufficient in bringing the earth under the feet of Christ. It turned out to be the fulfillment of the coronation of King Saul, rather than of King David. Saul was crowned on Pentecost (the day of wheat harvest in 1 Sam. 12:17), whereas David was crowned on the 59th Jubilee from Adam (the year 2892).
To understand the difference between these two coronations, one must contemplate the difference between Pentecost and the Jubilee. Pentecost occurs on the 50th day; the Jubilee is the 50th year. Pentecost is a mere type of the Jubilee, for the Jubilee speaks of greater things than Pentecost. The overcomers are those who attain justification through Passover, the baptism of the Spirit through Pentecost, and the liberty of the Jubilee.
Israel failed because it had only a Passover anointing and rejected hearing God's voice at Sinai (Pentecost). See Ex. 20:18-21. Their anointing was insufficient to establish the Kingdom permanently. Hence, in Acts 2 a transfer of authority took place from the unbelieving nation of Judah to the Judean believers in the upper room. In other words, from this point on, only believers were "chosen" to establish the Kingdom, rule the earth, and wear the garments of glory and honour.
However, the Pentecostals in Acts 2 received only the downpayment ("earnest") of the Spirit, as Paul tells us in 2 Cor. 1:22; 5:5; and Eph. 1:14. Although it was a greater anointing than Israel had received, it too proved insufficient for the task of bringing all things under His feet.
We now stand at the threshold of the greatest anointing of all. The Pentecostal Age has ended, and the transfer of authority has again taken place--this time from the Church of Pentecost to the overcomers of the Jubilee. It took place according to the pattern of Saul and David, complete with a 7-1/2 year transition ending Nov. 30, 2000.
The Church challenged this transfer of authority in early 2001, and lost the case on Feb. 21-22 when the almond rod bore fruit. For this reason I began these "Almond Chronicles," in order to give you some background material to help you watch Feb. 21 and 22 this year. We had discerned that according to the Hezekiah Factor, 2011 would see an echo of the events in 2001.
The Christchurch Quake
In New Zealand, Christchurch was struck by a 6.3 Richter earthquake at 12:51 p.m. on February 22 (their time zone). It was actually still Feb. 21 here in America. Either way, we are looking at the watch dates of Feb. 21 and 22 in regard to the Church losing its case.
I explained earlier that when carnally minded people (whether believers or unbelievers) disagree with the will of God, they end up fighting God. They end up on the side of the "princes" of this world who rule in the spiritual realm corresponding to the physical world. When this happens, earthly events reflect the spiritual realities in real life.
In this case, the Christchurch quake this week was an echo of the events ten years ago. The very name, "Christchurch," shows that it is an obvious type of the Church. The quake itself is similar to the quake sign on Feb. 28, 2001 which cracked the dome in Olympia, WA. The difference is that in 2001 the sign showed the disagreement of the "Olympians," the power brokers in the present world system of Babylon. Ten years later, however, in 2011, we are seeing the "Church" side manifest.
Because there is no time in the spiritual realm, the spiritual events can have long-term effects on the earth many years later. These always appear to come to the surface on specific time cycles, such as the ten-year cycle as we see here.
Christchurch experienced a 7.4 Richter quake on Sept. 4, 2010 as well, but at that time there were no casualties and no serious destruction. Yet it did reveal a hidden fault line that had been undetected until then.
It also exposed sandy foundations, as per Matt. 7:26, 27. See my blog for Sept. 8, 2010 which spoke of this.
In the above blog, I quoted from a letter received from a reader in New Zealand, which said:
Also, Christchurch is an actual cathedral city in accordance with that particular demarcation afforded certain European and British cities through the years. The cathedral in Christchurch is Anglican and was virtually unscathed at first glance.
In the recent quake this week, the cathedral was heavily damaged, and its steeple was toppled. So it appears that the quake last September exposed the faulty foundations of the Church, and then the second quake destroyed its "horn" (power, authority, as represented by the steeple).
Of course, keep in mind that these signs are in the big picture only. Our prayer and heart-felt sympathy goes toward the individuals who were affected by the quake.
