The last Science weblog that I wrote was posted on December 30, 2011.
This current article is an attempt to show the scientific implications of the biblical statement: "God is Love" (1 John 4:8).
Let us start by saying that the numeric value of agape, the highest form of love, is 93. It is known as the love of God, as distinct from eros and phileo (also translated "love"). The number 93 is known to be the average distance in millions of miles between the earth and the sun. In astronomical types and shadows, God placed the sun 93 million miles from the earth in order to express the truth that Love is the primary link between God and man.
We know that the earth orbits the sun and that this shows an attraction between the two. Think of this law of attraction, not as the force of gravity, but as the law of divine love by which God is expressing Himself in the created universe. Paul said in Rom. 11:36 that all things came out of Him, they proceed through Him, and eventually go back to Him. This tells us that what we call matter is really just made up of God Particles.
Scientists have been trying to build big atom smashers so that they can find the so-called God Particle, known also as the Higgs-boson.

Peter Higgs first proposed this smallest particle that cannot be further subdivided. Hence, the particle carries his name. As an atheist, he was not amused when Leon Lederman called it the God Particle in his book, The God Particle--If the Universe is the Answer, What is the Question?
Our interest in the God Particle comes partly because Paul mentions it in 1 Cor. 15:52, where he says we will not all sleep (die), but we will all be changed in the atoms (Greek: atomos) in the twinkling of an eye. In Paul's day, the term atomos referred to the smallest particle of matter that could not be subdivided. Unfortunately, a century ago when scientists discovered a very small particle that they believed could not be subdivided, they thought they had found the atom; but then later they discovered that this particle could be divided further. Hence, it was called an atom, only to discover later that it was misnamed.
So now they are still hunting for that small particle, which is essentially the point of contact between matter and energy, or between God and Creation.
Scientists did learn, however, that their so-called "atoms" were composed of neutrons, protons, and electrons. Neutrons had a neutral charge; protons had a positive charge; and electrons carried a negative charge. The question was how multiple protons, each having the same positive charge, were bound together when they should have been exploding away from each other.
In fact, nuclear fission shows us just how explosive the protons would be without being united by that mysterious law of God. Paul tells us in Col. 1:17 says about Christ, "in Him all things hold together." Nuclear fission breaks that bond, and the explosion itself demonstrates the force of divine love that normally holds all atoms together.
Back in 1929, Edwin Hubble discovered that the universe was expanding.

Yet when we observe how a galaxy unites millions of stars into one swirling whole, we see evidence that all things have an urge to unite by the power of the Law of Love, which is the central core of the very character of God. Love is the energy of every God Particle, by which all matter was created in the beginning.
This urge to unite is inherent in all things, from the God Particle to the most massive bodies in the universe. Allen Roland writes:
"When we observe the red shift of galaxies outside our local group, every galaxy appears to be moving away from us. We are therefore led to the conclusion that our Universe is expanding. This is called Hubble expansion, after Edwin Hubble, who discovered the phenomenon in 1929.
"But as the Universe expands, is it, in reality, feeling an increasing innate urge to unite? ....
"Let me use the findings of the recent Nobel Prize winning researchers, Politzer, Gross and Wilczek, to prove my point. They won the 2004 Nobel prize in physics for their studies of the 'strong force'--the powerful and mysterious energy that holds the nuclei of atoms together.
"They explained the mystifying qualities of the strong force, which holds together the fundamental building blocks of nature, called QUARKS, to form protons and neutrons--two of the basic components of atoms....
"Independently, they developed the theory and the mathematical equations to show that Quarks are held together by the strong force which, unlike any other force in the universe, gets stronger as the quarks get farther apart--a concept now known as 'Asymptotic Freedom'.
"The simplest analogy is to a rubber band encircling two objects. When the objects are close together, the rubber band fits loosely. But as they are drawn apart, the rubber band stretches, eventually trying to pull them back together...."
"The strong force in the atom is the urge to unite which is the principle property of my Unified Field. It is the same urge to unite that Bose and Einstein found when they discovered that photons (light particles) have a tendency to travel together versus act randomly--which eventually led to the discovery of the laser...
"It is also the same urge to unite that loved ones feel when they are separated from each other--and the further apart the stronger the pull to be back together. This would also explain how the urge to unite would increase as the Universe continues to expand.
"As such, it is a force that is stronger than Gravity!"

Roland also quotes from a 2004 article in the Guardian that quotes Mike Purcell. It seems that once particles have interacted with each other, they are forever "entangled" from then on, and what happens to one affects the other.
"Physicists call it entanglement, and it describes the state of two or more particles once they have interacted with one another. From then on, irrespective of time and space, a correlation will always exist between them. What happens to one will affect the other--even if they are now at opposite ends of the universe.... They have not become entangled, but at the fundamental level they have never been--and can never be--separated."
Such is the nature of all matter made of God Particles. Because we were all united in God at the beginning, we can never be separated in the end. Having been birthed in love, we are forever "entangled," and in unity we must all come eventually into the Restoration of All Things.
That is the power of Love, which binds us all together in Christ.
