We have taken the five ministry gifts (Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Prophets, and Apostles) as an outline for the courses of Bible study in this School.
Our purpose is to equip those who are ministering with a knowledge of the Word, so that each will be more effective in fulfilling his or her calling.
Learn MoreA Saudi preacher who tortured his five-year-old daughter to death has been released after agreeing to pay 'blood money', activists said.
Lama al-Ghamdi died in October having suffered multiple injuries including a crushed skull, broken ribs and left arm, extensive bruising and burns.
The child had also been repeatedly raped and the burned....
Rather than the death penalty or a long prison sentence, the judge in the case ruled the prosecution could only seek 'blood money', according to activists.
The money is compensation for the next of kin under Islamic law....
He has reportedly agreed to pay £31,000 ($50,000), which is believed to have gone to Lama's mother.
The amount is half that would have been paid if Lama had been a boy.
Activists say under Islamic laws a father cannot be executed for murdering his children. Husbands can also not be executed for murdering their wives, the group say.
Three Saudi activists, including Manal al-Sharif, who started the women's right to drive campaign, have raised objections to the ruling.
Whenever a law is truly unjust, it is either because God did not authorize it, or else men have misunderstood it. I do not know what Sharia law actually says about the above situation, but certainly the application of it in this case is unjust.
God's law does not give a parent the right to execute his child. In the law of rebellious children, if a child absolutely refuses to be obedient, a parent can bring him to the court, where, if the child still adamantly refuses to repent and submit to the court order, the judge may sentence the child to death. The parent must leave it to the judicial system (Deuteronomy 21:19).
Neither does a husband have the right of life and death over his wife. If either of them violate the law, they are to be tried in court and dealt with according to their sin. This is why a jealous husband who suspects that his wife has committed adultery, must take her to the divine court, where the priest was to administer an oath of innocence to her. He did not have the right to judge her himself.
It is unfortunate when men establish laws that do not reflect the mind of God. But if enough people repent of going their own way and establishing the laws of men, whole nations can change to better conform to the mind of Christ.
Dr. Stephen Jones has been writing blog posts since 2005 on a variety of topics from Bible Studies to World News, and he has been writing books since 1992. Dr. Jones' most important writings came after God brought him back into the full-time ministry in 1991. It is here that all his earlier years of searching the Scriptures began to come into clear focus. He combines a knowledge of the Old and New Testaments with a personal revelation of God that began and developed during the "wilderness" period of his life, which he often refers to as God's True Bible College...
