Last night we drove to Mankato, MN to speak the main decrees in regard to the “End the Famine” prayer campaign. We arrived at the rendezvous point in Mankato at 5 pm and then drove nearly an hour south to Blue Earth, MN, where the headwaters of the Blue Earth River are located. This river flows into the Minnesota River, which in turn flows into the Mississippi.
We went to a pavilion in the park near the headwaters, where Paul Kyle and David Smith offered some appropriate music that they had written in the year 2000 when they first met. (This prayer campaign brought them back together again after losing contact for 13 years.)
At the pavilion we also prayed Daniel’s prayer of repentance (Daniel 9:2-19), and then confessed the sins of the nation more specifically in regard to the broken treaties and the 1862 Dakota war. One of our group was the great grandson of one of the soldiers who witnessed the hanging in Mankato. He was part of the cavalry guarding the scene as the 38 Dakotas (by this time they were all Christian believers) were led to the gallows.
The leader of the Dakotas shook the hand of the executioner. They sang what others thought was a death chant, but which turned out to be a Christian hymn that Christian ministers had taught them earlier.
Meanwhile, the soldiers were there to keep the angry white settlers from rioting or storming the gallows. So the great grandson of one of those soldiers issued a decree of repentance on behalf of his family, which has lived on a farm near Mankato that had been part of the reservation before the expulsions.
We also read in unison the “model prayer” that I had published earlier on the weblog and in the FFI.
We then walked to the other end of the park to the riverbank, and completed the assignment. Barley meal, which the Lord provided in a unique way last week from a “House of Bread” (Bethlehem), was cast into the river to heal broken covenants.
Also, because Exodus 15:22-26 was part of this revelation, regarding the bitter waters of Marah being made sweet, a “tree” was cast into the river after cutting it up into twelve parts. I recall our Tabernacles meeting at Sweetwater, TN in 2008, where barley was planted along Interstate 40, from Oklahoma to Tennessee, reversing the path of the “Trail of Tears” in the 1830’s, which had begun in Sweetwater, TN and ended in Oklahoma.
We took note at the time that God was turning the bitter waters sweet, as He did at Marah in the book of Exodus.
While our prayers, songs, and reconciliation decrees were being made at the Blue Earth River, I was made aware of a great “cloud of witnesses” surrounding us. There were just over 400 of them (mostly Indian, but also white settlers from the past conflict). All had a stake in what we were doing.
I felt an urgency to address them on behalf of the divine court, telling them that God reconciled them to Himself. But then David Smith read aloud 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 and Ephesians 2:14-18, which is about how God has done this through Christ, and how we ourselves have been given the message of reconciliation. We are God’s ambassadors and spokesmen with this message of reconciliation, and so this word was spoken to the cloud of witnesses.
We then read Isaiah 61:1-3, proclaiming freedom for the captives and the release from prison, and also Isaiah 55:11, “So shall My word be which goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”
Nancy then blew the shofar to seal the words of reconciliation, restoration, and glory.
While we were doing all of this, Peggy and her son Benjamin were at the headwaters of the Mississippi River decreeing Isaiah 62:1-12, along with Luke 2:14, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” This tied the two works together as one from July 9, 2010 to September 4/5, 2013.
Recall that on July 9, 2010 we cast barley into the headwaters of the Mississippi River, according to the eighth sign of Elisha (2 Kings 4:38-41). The BP oil spill had brought death to the Gulf Basin, and we were led to counter this with the “life” represented by barley. A group of about 30 of us came to witness this work, and I cast the barley into the river at 2:16 pm.
So 144 hours and 9 minutes later, the oil well was capped on July 15, 2010 at 2:25 pm.
The number 216, of course, is very important from a biblical standpoint, including the fact that Joshua’s name appears 216 times in Scripture. He overthrew Jericho, which means “Moon City,” and the diameter of the moon is 2160 miles.
It was quite dark by the time we finished the work at the Blue Earth River, so we all decided to meet the local McDonalds restaurant to talk and get something to eat, if they were hungry. Darla and I had brought sandwiches, so we were not hungry. I did, however, get a “carnal mocha,” which is one of my occasional fleshly indulgences. My ticket was #216, of course. At first, I laughed about it and then threw it away, but then I realized its connection to the Mississippi River three years ago. I then retrieved it and brought it home for the official record.
It is amazing that God can even use McDonalds to convey His word. However, He speaks quickly at McDonalds. After all, it is “fast food.”
While at McDonalds, I took a picture of the seven intercessors of Mankato, all of whom were present for the entire Blue Earth River decrees. (Second from the left is my friend, Phil.) These represent the seven sons of Saul, all of whom were intercessors in their own time, paying for the sins of their father, Saul, although they were not at fault. Even as the seven sons of Saul were hanged on the first day of barley harvest (2 Samuel 21:9), so also these seven presented themselves as intercessors for the church and the nation in regard to the hanging that took place in Mankato in 1862.
We then drove back to Minneapolis, arriving home about 12:30 am.
The Big Picture
How does this prayer campaign to “End the Famine” fit into the general flow of prophetic history?
The pattern we are seeing is from 2 Samuel 21. We have had a three-year “famine” of hearing the word, caused by broken treaties, at which the US government excels, having had so much practice over the years. In the year 2010 we should have seen great changes occur in the world. We had expectations of being set free of Mystery Babylon. In July 2010 we had completed the first half of Elisha’s miracle-signs, and we expected to move immediately into the double portion—the final eight signs.
However, this did not happen. The signs suddenly ceased, and for the past three years we have watched and waited patiently for the ninth sign to come. We were unaware that there was a blockage that stood in the way. We did not know that we, like David, had to overcome a problem from Saul (church) that had occurred during the reign of “Saul” (that is, the Age of Pentecost, 33-1993 A.D.).
That problem was the broken treaties, which needed reconciliation.
The year 2010 was the culmination of many very important, long-term time cycles. I wrote about these in a three-part series of weblogs back in August of 2011.

We noted the 7 cycles of 390 years from the fall of Samaria in 721 B.C. to the year 2010. The seventh 390-year cycle extended from 1620-2010, beginning with the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock. The number 390 has to do with “no king in Israel,” as I explained in my book, Secrets of Time. The early settlers wanted no king but Jesus, but in recent years America cast Jesus off the throne as well. This situation should have ended in 2010.
We also noted that 2010 was also 7 cycles of 490 years since the Divided Kingdom began after the death of Solomon in 931 B.C. A period of 490 years is Daniel’s Seventy Weeks, or 70 Sabbath years, or 10 Jubilee cycles. So 7 cycles of 490 years is 70 Jubilees. Hence, the year 2010 ought to have ended with a Jubilee trumpet to reunite and reconcile the people under Christ. But this did not happen in 2010.
We also noted that 2010 was the end of 14 periods of 210 years (“time of Jacob’s trouble”), beginning with the Divided Kingdom. The first 210-year cycle, from 931-721 B.C., ended with the fall of Samaria, Israel’s capital city. The next 12 cycles of 210 years ended in 1800 A.D. with the building of Washington D.C. (our nation’s capital). The final 210-year cycle brings us to the year 2010. Since 210 is a tribulation number, based on “Jacob’s trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7), we should have come out of our distress and trouble in the year 2010. But this did not happen.
What we did get was a three-year “famine.” While we did not understand it during that time, the unction began to work in Don at the start of 2013, and in mid-July the pieces began to come together. They believed that the seven intercessors were called as a group to do a work of reconciliation in Mankato. One of them, my childhood friend, Phil, told me about it in early August, and I immediately saw the connection to the famine that David had to deal with in 2 Samuel 21.
As more pieces of the puzzle began to emerge, it became clear that this was the reason we had seen no results that were expected to occur in 2010. So now we have done the main work of ending the famine as of the night of September 4/5, 2013. Yet we still have ten days to go to the end of the prayer campaign (September 14).
