On the sixth day of Tabernacles, the priests read Psalm 81:13, 14, which says,
13 Oh that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! 14 I would quickly subdue their enemies and turn My hand against their adversaries.
When we link this to the sixth bowl of wine and water that was poured out on that day, it is clear that the “enemies” were gathering together against God’s people for the battle of Armageddon in Revelation 16:16 because God’s people had not been walking in God’s ways.
One cannot simply blame the “enemies.” If God’s people had heard and obeyed God’s voice, there would never be such a battle. Believers tend to think that the enemies of God attack them for no reason except to do them harm or to enslave them. But that is not how God sees it. In the laws of tribulation in Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28, it is clear that God Himself promised to raise up their enemies and empower them to bring judgment upon Israel if they persisted in their refusal to follow God’s laws and ways.
Deuteronomy 28:47-49 says,
47 Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and a glad heart, for the abundance of all things, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the Lord will send against you,…. 49 The Lord will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as the eagle swoops down, a nation whose language you shall not understand.
The religious carnal mind wants to be delivered from the enemy so that it may continue in sin that grace may abound. Those who are carnal want God to bless them in their sin (lawlessness). But that is not the mind of God. Paul tells us that the carnal mind serves the law of sin, while the spiritual man serves the law of God (Romans 7:25).
We may conclude, then, that the sixth bowl of water—which represents a prayer for the outpouring of the Spirit—is absolutely necessary to bring the solution to the sixth bowl of wine that judges Babylon. Babylon cannot fall until the people repent, because God raised up Babylon to bring the people to repentance.
Three Great Awakenings in America
This repentance is now being called The Great Awakening, by which is meant the third great move of the Spirit in American history. The first Awakening under Jonathan Edwards (mid-1700’s) was a Passover-level revival, sparked by his sermon, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. It was rooted in fear, not love, but it had a powerful effect in American history.

The second Great Awakening had its roots in the 1790’s and spread throughout the early 1800’s. Secular historians tell us that it was “characterized by enthusiasm, emotion, and an appeal to the supernatural.”

In other words, it was a Pentecost-level awakening, for it took the believers beyond the “Angry God” to a God of Power whose presence would affect us personally and physically. It was rooted in Acts 1:8, “You will receive power, when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.” Whereas men would naturally keep their distance from an Angry God, they were invited to interact personally with this God of Power.
Historians often divide this move of the Spirit into two phases, the Second and Third Great Awakening, but such divisions merely reflect an extension in time, not the quality of the movement. This Awakening lasted for more than a century. Charles Finney carried it through the 1820’s to the 1860’s. Maria Woodworth-Etter (1844-1924) carried on after him with her remarkable ministry, linking the Second Awakening seamlessly to the Pentecostal movement in the early 1900’s.

Hence, we are today seeing the beginning stages of the Third Great Awakening. I believe that when it emerges more fully, it will manifest as a Tabernacles-level awakening. This will change the church’s view from the fear-based Angry God to the God of Love. At the present time, the Angry God view still prevails, as the majority of believers think that God intends to destroy all of His enemies in a fit of rage.
The Pentecostal God of Power added its revelation, but unfortunately, it failed to eliminate the fear factor and bring us fully into the revelation of God’s love. So the church has lived with the concept that God intends to burn up His enemies with literal fire, rather than to pour out His Spirit upon them in the purifying baptism of fire (Matthew 3:11, 12).
The missing ingredient is the understanding of the restoration of all things, whereby Christ died to reconcile men “while we were enemies” (Romans 5:10). One cannot truly know God and walk in His ways (Psalm 81:13) without a revelation of the love of God and how it is actually implemented in the midst of divine judgment. I believe that this will be the underlying revelation of this Third Great Awakening.
The Third Great Awakening
The sixth bowl poured out into the Euphrates (Revelation 16:12) sees no revival or awakening except insofar as it speaks of the deliverance that was to come through “the kings from the east.” But this was only a preparatory stage, because the result was three “frogs” coming out of the mouths of the dragon, beast, a false prophet, whose job is to gather people together for a final battle.
Yet the outcome of the battle (through the seventh bowl) is the destruction of Babylon at the hands of these “kings from the east.” So we know that the Great Awakening was certainly to take place somewhere within this time frame.
Therefore, even though John said nothing about the bowls of water, we were led to follow the practice of the temple in Jerusalem, where the priests poured out both water and wine, one on each side of the altar.
Healing the Man Born Blind
The sixth miracle-sign (semeion) in the Gospel of John is found in John 9, where Jesus healed the man who had been born blind. Blindness and deafness are closely related in prophecy, because they represent seeing (understanding) the revelation of God and hearing/obeying His voice.
The sixth sign prophesied of the Great Awakening in the time of the sixth bowl of water that is poured out along with the wine. The man whose eyes were healed typified this latter-day generation, which, I believe, is where we are today. Jesus put wet clay on his eyes and told him to “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent).”
This caused great controversy that ultimately resulted in the man’s excommunication from the temple (John 9:22, 34). A separation is coming between those who are blind and those who see. The blind ones think they see, but the one who was healed of blindness truly could see. It is strange, though, that the man was excommunicated before He even knew that Jesus was the Christ!
John 9:34-38 says,
34 They answered him, “You were born entirely in sin, and are you teaching us?” So they put him out [excommunicated him from the temple and synagogues]. 35 Jesus heard that they had put him out, and finding him, He said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” 36 He answered, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him? 37 Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him, and He is the one who is talking with you.” 38 And he said, “Lord, I believe.” And he worshiped Him.
One does not have to understand fully in order to be healed of blindness. In fact, one must be healed of blindness before one can see Christ for who He is. The point is that when he hears the truth, he has ears that have the ability to hear. The religious leaders did not have hearing ears. In the same way today, God is calling the overcomers, healing their eyes and ears, and distinguishing them from the general populace—and from the church as a whole.
Paul made this distinction as well while speaking of the remnant of grace, which was a tiny minority in Israel in the days of Elijah. Paul concludes in Romans 11:7,
7 What then? What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened [“blinded,” KJV].
Those who are blind, lacking the ability to see and understand who Christ is are not “chosen.” Those who reject the word of truth when they hear it are not “chosen.” Paul says that being “chosen” is a matter of the sovereignty of God—“God’s gracious choice” (Romans 11:5). Faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17); we hear nothing unless He speaks first, and even then, if Christ does not heal our ears and eyes, we will not hear no matter how much He speaks.
Therefore, it is clear that the man whose eyes were healed represents the overcomers in our time.
It is not yet time for all to hear. When the New Covenant is fully implemented, God says that “all will know Me, from the least to the greatest of them” (Hebrews 8:11). But “all” is for a time that is yet future. Meanwhile, God has been calling the few to bless the many. The body of overcomers, sons of Abraham, have been hand-picked by God Himself to bring His blessings to the rest of the world.
The Calling of the House of Joseph
The calling of Abraham’s children brings the blessing of God to all nations and to all families of the earth. This is a general calling that can be broken into various parts. The Melchizedek Order has a king-priest calling (Levi and Judah) that is inherent in the Dominion Mandate. The calling of David was to rule Israel; the calling of Joseph was to rule the world.
As the inheritor of the Birthright (1 Chronicles 5:1, 2), Joseph-Ephraim carries the authority to bring forth the sons of God. All matters of Sonship are completed under Joseph’s authority. As we have seen, the change in authority began in 1993, when “Saul” died and the house of David began to grow stronger even as the house of Saul grew weaker (2 Samuel 3:1).
In practical terms, the Pentecostal anointing began to be replaced by the Tabernacles anointing. In times past, the church under Pentecost had determined the course of world history. The world followed the example of the church. When the church decided centuries ago to pursue power and money as the means of building the Kingdom of God, they ended up competing with the world instead of leading it into the ways of God.
That ended on May 30, 1993, the 40th Jubilee of the church since the day of Pentecost in 33 A.D. We then entered into a transition of authority from Saul to David, whereby a new authority began to rise—an authority to determine the course of the Kingdom and its influence on the world at large.
At the apex of David’s authority on November 30, 2000, the house of Joseph began to emerge. With the support of the house of David, the house of Joseph was given authority to issue decrees and declarations that would change the course of Kingdom history and bring the age to a close.
Therefore, the Third Great Awakening does not depend upon the decisions of the blind, nor does it depend upon the decisions of the “Saul” church in the Pentecostal realm. God is calling a new body of people, a Tabernacles Church represented by both David and Joseph. This new body has the authority to determine the future, because (by definition) they are an Amen people, people who bear witness on earth to that which God has decreed in heaven.
They believe in the sovereignty of God. They do not command God to do anything. They do not seek to impose their will upon a reluctant God. They know God’s will and respond to it in full agreement. Because of this transfer of authority, we can say with full assurance that the Third Great Awakening will come and that the Holy Spirit will be poured out to awaken the people, even in the midst of divine judgment upon the Babylonian system.
This was the decree represented by the bowls of water and wine that we poured out in the river at Fruita in 2005. I do not know what others may have done, but we were determined (and led by the Spirit) to bear witness on earth to what the sixth angel was doing in the heavenly realm.
