Ever since “the green new deal” was introduced by Miss Duncita R. Brainless, there has been a move to restrict the use of oil and gas in the name of saving the planet from global warming.
Coal, of course, was the biggest target of all, since it is the most polluting of all. I personally am in favor of keeping the earth unpolluted. However, I believe there is an evil political agenda behind the green movement that is designed to deindustrialize America and thus give an economic advantage to China. Hence, China uses mostly coal to generate electricity, and the air pollution in Beijing is legendary.
In my view, we should be using the nearly unlimited energy from the magnetic field in the earth itself that Tesla discovered more than a century ago. If it had not been for J. P. Morgan, Rockefeller, and the American oligarchs of the early 1900’s, we would have been largely pollution free today.
This alternative technology still exists, but anyone who tries to develop it on a practical level seems to develop Sudden Death Syndrome.
Given the present situation, we cannot simply stop all oil and gas production immediately, as “the green new deal” suggests. But if certain oligarchs and their political servants want to enslave us, one tactic is to shut down travel. If they want to destroy America, one tactic is to shut down its economy in the name of preventing global warming. All sinister plots are packaged with brightly colored wrapping.
The war in Ukraine has presented Europe and America with a unique problem. After the fall of the Soviet Union, Communism was seen as a failed ideology. The new Russia struggled for a time and then began to restore its “traditional” Orthodox values that predated Communism. In more recent years, President Putin led the way, making an alliance with the Russian Orthodox Church. He also understood that to build a strong country Russia had to be built upon its reserve of natural resources—minerals, oil, gas, agriculture, etc.
Sanctions were supposed to cut off all energy supplies from Russia, but yet the West blames Russia for cutting off gas supplies! Russia is now slowing down its gas supply to Europe, and yet Europe is blaming Russia for giving them their own wish! They claim that Russia is “squeezing” them by slowing down the gas supply being piped to Europe. How about Europe squeezing itself? Can’t you just see a cartoon showing a European politician shooting himself in the foot in order to hurt Russia?
Europe is now turning the clock back and going back to coal. Coal is the most polluting energy source of all. But coal has not been sanctioned by the West. Europe is still allowed to use it, and much of its coal comes from Russia! Poland imported 81 percent of its coal from Russia in 2020, and Germany imported 67 percent.

It seems that buying Russian coal is better than buying Russian oil and gas. Mind boggling!
So now, because oil and gas imports are sanctioned, they are reverting to coal once again. If they are trying to hurt Russia by sanctioning oil and gas, how does it hurt Russia to buy their coal?
It appears that there is a shortage of brains in the halls of western governments these days.

In a similar move on Sunday, German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said that Berlin will have to boost the use of coal for electricity production to make up for the shortage of natural gas from Russia.
Meanwhile, the Austrian government agreed with energy company Verbund to convert a reserve gas-fired power plant in the southern Styria region to produce electricity using coal in case the energy emergency deepens.
These moves follow a decision by Russia’s Gazprom to cut natural gas deliveries to Germany via the Nord Stream pipeline by 60% after German maintenance provider Siemens failed to return pumping units after repairs due to sanctions. European officials claimed this decision was purely political and linked to tensions between Russia and the West over Moscow’s military operation in Ukraine.
Gazprom’s gas pipelines need regular maintenance, and the German company Siemens is contracted to provide that maintenance. Siemens recently sent a turbine to Canada for maintenance. Canada then claimed that sanctions prevented them from returning the turbine, as it was to be used to send gas from Russia to Europe. So the gas flow is now cut in half.
Once again, Europe blames Russia for its own stupidity. It seems to me that they should be thanking Russia for not cutting off the supply altogether. Putin has shown tremendous restraint. Perhaps he feels sorry for them for being so dull witted.
