We have taken the five ministry gifts (Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Prophets, and Apostles) as an outline for the courses of Bible study in this School.
Our purpose is to equip those who are ministering with a knowledge of the Word, so that each will be more effective in fulfilling his or her calling.
Learn MoreThe neocons in the US government are pushing hard for a war with Iran. Last year the US navy seized an oil tanker carrying oil to a buyer in China, for violating the sanctions that the US had unilaterally imposed upon the world. Yesterday Iran took back the same ship. (It had been renamed, but it was still the same ship.)
So now the neocons are incensed that Iran would seize a US oil tanker! It seems to me that Iran’s response was perfectly measured so that the judgment fit the original crime. Nonetheless, expect the warmongers to treat this as if Iran is provoking the US into a war.
The West’s “rules based order” is a shift from a law-based order. The US makes the rules that suit its “interests,” and then all other countries must submit to those rules. The only countries that can ignore those rules are those who have a powerful military. Such countries are then treated as enemies, dictatorships, terrorist states, etc.
What would America do if a small Caribbean country suddenly declared a rule, based on its own economic interest, and then expected all other countries to abide by its rule? The US would laugh, because that country has no military to enforce its rule. When the US does this, its only right to create rules comes from its superior military. It has nothing to do with right or wrong or even international law. It is entirely according to military might.
Many small countries object to the idea that “might makes right,” but they are too powerless to resist. Babylon rules by its military strength and acts according to its own interest—which is to obtain power and retain its empire. Contrast this with the Kingdom of God, which will judge disputes according to biblical laws that demand equal justice for all, regardless of strength.
Alex Christophorou, speaking from Cyprus, gives us a good summary of the escalating crisis in regard to Iran, Yemen, Gaza, Ukraine, and Poland.
Dr. Stephen Jones has been writing blog posts since 2005 on a variety of topics from Bible Studies to World News, and he has been writing books since 1992. Dr. Jones' most important writings came after God brought him back into the full-time ministry in 1991. It is here that all his earlier years of searching the Scriptures began to come into clear focus. He combines a knowledge of the Old and New Testaments with a personal revelation of God that began and developed during the "wilderness" period of his life, which he often refers to as God's True Bible College...
