We have taken the five ministry gifts (Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Prophets, and Apostles) as an outline for the courses of Bible study in this School.
Our purpose is to equip those who are ministering with a knowledge of the Word, so that each will be more effective in fulfilling his or her calling.
Learn MoreOn November 29, 2024 the word of the Lord surprised us by telling us that the overcomers were now bearing fruit. We are the temple of God prophesied in Scripture for the latter days, not a rebuilt physical temple on the old site in the earthly Jerusalem.. So I wrote a weblog that day explaining briefly the history of November 29, in which I wrote:
The temple is now complete in some sense of the word, and the time is coming for the dedication of the altar. I do not know how or when this may take place, unless it comes at Hanukkah, the feast of dedication (John 10:22).

In John 10:22-42 Jesus went to Herod’s temple at the time of the Feast of Dedication, but the people there rejected Him, because they were not His sheep (John 10:26). In other words, they were not His “chosen people” because they did not hear His voice. The timing of this incident on the Feast of Dedication suggests that the people had placed their faith in the earthly Jerusalem its temple, but, in fact, they were not living stones in the true temple of God.
We today, however, are those who hear His voice and are part of the true temple that Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 3:16. Because the time has come for the overcomers (as a body) to bear fruit, we are nearing the time of the end-time harvest. But first, this temple must be dedicated to God.
The Feast of Dedication is an eight-day feast that begins on the evening of December 25. The first day of the feast is on December 26. So I am led to call for a dedication prayer to be offered, modeled after Solomon’s prayer of dedication in 1 Kings 8:22-61, but brought into a New Covenant context.
The Feast of Dedication was established in 163 B.C. after the temple had been desecrated by Antiochus Epiphanes. The priests found very little holy anointing oil with which to dedicate the temple—a ceremony that would take eight days to complete. By an apparent miracle, the oil lasted the full amount of time as it burned in the Lampstand.
Although this is not one of the original feasts established under Moses, Jesus observed this feast in John 10. In past years, I have never had any insight as to what we might do (if anything), but I began to suspect something last November 29.
Tomorrow I hope to post instructions for this prayer of dedication that will allow all of us to participate.
Dr. Stephen Jones has been writing blog posts since 2005 on a variety of topics from Bible Studies to World News, and he has been writing books since 1992. Dr. Jones' most important writings came after God brought him back into the full-time ministry in 1991. It is here that all his earlier years of searching the Scriptures began to come into clear focus. He combines a knowledge of the Old and New Testaments with a personal revelation of God that began and developed during the "wilderness" period of his life, which he often refers to as God's True Bible College...
