Here is a short video showing the Zionist view regarding the third temple project. I have already given my view, based on the New Testament, that the third temple is the body of Christ. Zionists, however, believe that God is urging them to blow up the al Aqsa mosque and to build a physical structure in order to hasten the coming of the Messiah.
That Zionist view was radical 40 years ago, pushed largely by Meir Kahana (now deceased), who was pronounced a terrorist by the US government and even banned in the Jewish state. But today they have taken over the Likud party of Netanyahu, and so their temple beliefs now dominate Zionism as a whole. It may well be that these bloodthirsty Zionists will provoke a nuclear event that will trigger the end of the Zionist state.

The Zionist mindset about the temple in the days of Jeremiah gave them confidence to fight against the Babylonian army, thinking that God would never allow His temple to be destroyed. The prophet tells them in Jeremiah 7:4,
4 Do not trust in deceptive words, saying, “This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.”
Jeremiah tells them that the solution was repentance, not warfare. Later, he says that they had made the temple into “a den of robbers” (Jeremiah 7:11) and that God was going to forsake that place “as I did to Shiloh” (Jeremiah 7:14). Shiloh was the first place where the Ark of God rested, and when God forsook that place, He never returned. Instead, He went to Jerusalem and dwelt in Solomon’s temple (Psalm 78:67-69).
But because of the corruption in that place, God forsook Jerusalem as Shiloh. This is why the glory of God never descended to inhabit the second temple, even though God authorized its construction.
Yet today, even Christian Zionists fail to understand the Scriptures, thinking that building a temple in Jerusalem will hasten Christ’s coming. They think that just because the prophetic “fig tree” has produced more leaves (Matthew 24:32, 33), that somehow it will bear fruit, even after Jesus said otherwise in Matthew 21:19). The tree began to bear leaves on May 14, 1948, but it has not brought forth the fruit of repentance that God requires.
So Christian Zionists urge the Israelis toward their own destruction, thinking they are doing God’s work. This is madness. As long as they desire animal sacrifices, they reject the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. And ensure their own destruction.
My view is that the tree was given 76 years (“cleansing”) in which to try to bear fruit. On May 14, 2025 they will reach 77 years, suggesting some sort of final deadline for repentance. It appears like this is reaching a climax, where events will prove whose view is correct and whose is not.
