Until now, we have never adequately discussed the full demise of Daniel’s “little horn” in the year 2024. However, events have now progressed where we can begin to see how this will manifest in the world shortly.
First of all, there is much overlap between the little horn and the prophetic life of King Saul. We have often noted how King Saul was a prophetic type of the church during the Pentecostal Age from 33-1993. Saul was crowned on the day of wheat harvest (1 Sam. 12:17), later called Pentecost, and he reigned 40 years. Each year of his reign represented a Jubilee cycle in church history. Whenever Scripture dates an event in Saul’s reign, we can find a parallel event at the corresponding Jubilee cycle in church history.
In 1993 the signs of the times showed the death of “Saul” and the beginning of the reign of “David.” I have written about this in the past and will not take the time to repeat this here. It is clear today that 1993 ended the Pentecostal Age and put us into the transition into the Tabernacles Age. This had to do with resolving the spiritual problem—or, better, the religious problem. The little horn is a political problem, having more to do with the succession of empires.
The little horn, being an extension of Rome after the collapse of the Empire in 476 A.D., came into being in 527 A.D. when Justinian became the emperor. His first project was to change how we reckon the calendar year. Instead of dating each year from the founding of Rome, he changed it to start with the birth of Christ.
Then he proceeded to overhaul the entire Roman law system to conform to Orthodox Christian laws (529-534 A.D.). In accomplishing these two major projects, he fulfilled the description of the little horn in Dan. 7:25 KJV, “he will think to change times and laws.”
Justinian’s legal system became the foundation of the West until the present time, so the importance of his reforms cannot be underestimated.
The “Saul” church was primarily located in Rome, while the “little horn” was located in Constantinople, also known as “New Rome.” Hence, the “Saul” prophecies center upon Papal Rome, while the “little horn” prophecies find their fulfillment in Constantinople and the Eastern Roman Empire.
The Eastern Roman Empire continued in various forms, culminating in the Austria-Hungary Empire, which broke up in 1918 in the aftermath of World War 1. Nonetheless, as I have shown in past studies, there was another century that had to be taken into account, essentially bringing us to the final 7-year period from 2017-2024.
When dealing with long-term prophecy of the Kingdom, the main biblical pattern is undoubtedly Israel’s Jordan crossing under the leadership of Joshua. I showed in my book, Secrets of Time, that this event is dated 2488 years after Adam (or 1407 B.C.).
70 Jubilees is 3,430 years (70 x 49). It is 3,430 years from 1407 B.C. to the year 2024. (3,430 minus 1407 = 2023; add 1 year because there is no year zero.)
The year 2024, then, is a year that runs parallel to the Jordan crossing. The main difference is that we are ready to conquer the nations under the headship of a greater Joshua (Yeshua) and by the New Covenant commission.
The biblical Canaanites were prophetic types of the nations today. Instead of conquering the nations by the physical sword, we conquer by the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Eph. 6:17). We are under Christ’s mandate through the Great Commission in Matt. 28:18-20. Baptism signifies the death of the natural man but also includes resurrection to “newness of life” (Rom. 6:4 KJV).
Therefore, what was a death sentence under Joshua has become life under the New Covenant Joshua. This is good news for the nations, for they will soon be set free from “the bondage of corruption” so that they may come “into the glorious liberty of the children of God” (Rom. 8:21 KJV).
The year 2024 will mark the next big step in fulfilling this anxious longing of creation. It will not be the fulness yet, for that is reserved for the Creation Jubilee. Yet it will mark a very important turning point in world history. As was the case with the original Canaanites who suffered under oppressive religious systems that demanded human sacrifice, the modern nations have likewise groaned in travail without knowing the solution—and, in most cases, without having a clear idea of the underlying problem.
Many have been taught that “tribulation” is something for the future, when, in fact, it has been ongoing for a very long time. Tribulation is now intensifying, but it is also finally coming to an end as God’s Kingdom emerges. Unfortunately, many Christians are so steeped in Old Covenant thinking that they are unable to see the good news (“gospel”) of the coming Kingdom. The judgment upon Canaan has been ongoing for 70 Jubilees—paralleling Judah’s 70-year Babylonian captivity.
The nations have suffered judgment for a long time, along with both Israel and Judah, under the “beast” empires listed in Daniel 2 and 7. No one has been exempt, and all of this judgment has been the direct result of the sins of Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Jeremiah (and earlier).
Even the overcomers have suffered (Dan. 7:21), though God has certainly used that suffering for a good purpose. Yet the point is that we are now approaching the END of this long tribulation period. The end is reaching a climax, of course, which means an intensification of trouble just before it ends.
In my view, this intensification is pictured in Daniel 4 in the account of King Nebuchadnezzar’s madness. The West seems to have gone mad from 2017-2024, politically, culturally, religiously, and legally. Good is now evil, black is white, up is down. Freedom is destroyed in the name of “saving our democracy.”
This madness is coming from the West, where the seat of Babylonian government resides. The rest of the world is aghast and does not understand how this can happen. But those of us who understand Bible prophecy are able to navigate these rough seas without fear with an expectation of good things soon to come. God is using this madness to discredit Babylon’s rulers and to turn the nations against them, as prophesied in Rev. 17:16-18,
16 And the ten horns [kings/kingdoms] which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore [of Babylon] and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh and burn her with fire. 17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill His will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast until the words of God shall be fulfilled. 18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
The whore of Babylon rides the beast with 10 horns. It rules the nations who “agree” with her for a season. But in the end, the nations themselves will turn against her “and shall eat her flesh and burn her with fire.”
This metaphor is exemplified primarily in the story of Jezebel, the prophetic type of the great whore of Babylon, who was eaten by the dogs (2 Kings 9:10). In other words, the beast nations who served the great whore will finally wake up and destroy their oppressive ruler.
Knowing this, what shall our attitude be toward the nations who are currently being used by the whore to oppress the world? Should we treat them as enemies or as future friends? Shall we criticize them for not being present believers in Christ, or should we recognize that God has a positive and vital role for them to play as well?
This positive role is expressed again in Rev. 15:4,
4 Who shall not fear Thee, O Lord, and glorify Thy name? For Thou only art holy; for all nations shall come and worship before Thee, for Thy judgments are made manifest.
This refers to a time after these nations have turned against the whore. Having tired of oppression, having been repulsed by the madness, and having heard of the justice and righteousness of God’s Kingdom, what nation would not want to submit to Christ and His Kingdom?
The past few months have shown to the world the true bloodthirsty nature of Zionism. Zionists justify their actions on the grounds of self-defense, but most of the world does not see it that way. Many statements from government officials themselves make it clear that their real motive is to eliminate the Palestinians from Gaza and to take the land for Israeli settlements.
When asked if Palestinians have the right to a state of their own, Zionists shout an emphatic NO. They often base their view on the Old Testament, pointing to the command given to Joshua to kill all the Canaanites. In other words, they intend to commit genocide and ethnic cleansing.
Their view, of course, presumes that the Old Covenant is still valid, along with its weapon of choice. They do not take into consideration the “better” covenant of which Jesus Christ is the Mediator. Neither do they consider what may have happened if the Israelites had been able to hear God’s voice at Mount Sinai.
When the Israelites refused to hear in Exodus 20:18-21, they rejected the Sword of the Spirit by which they might have conquered Canaan in a positive manner. Instead, they were left with a physical sword given to them by the Old Covenant. So one might ask: Why did God tell Israel to commit genocide on the Canaanites? Who was responsible for this policy?
When our Joshua/Yeshua came, His New Covenant policy was to teach all nations and baptize them. This was a radical departure from the original conquest of Canaan. After 2,000 years in which men had to ponder the difference between the two covenants, we have had ample time to choose the better one.
However, the church has largely failed to learn the difference. Most religious leaders were never taught, and so the people as a whole never learned this. As a result, we see an entire generation of Christian Zionists who blindly support the ongoing genocide, thinking it is God’s will and the fulfilment of prophecy.
They do not know the difference between Zionism and Sionism. Zion was a hill of Jerusalem where men rallied around King David. Sion is Mount Hermon (Deut. 4:48), the place where Jesus was transfigured.
Jerusalem is Hagar, not Sarah (Gal. 4:25), and it is in bondage with her children. Jerusalem corresponds to Mount Sinai, the place of the Old Covenant. It is no longer the place where believers are to rally. “But ye are come unto mount Sion, unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem” (Heb. 12:22 KJV).
Note that “mount Sion” is not in the earthly Jerusalem but the heavenly city. Jesus was not transfigured on Zion but upon Sion. Yet Christian Zionists have chosen to rally on Zion, thinking that Christ is there and that this is the place of the New Covenant. It is not.
This mistake has caused many well-meaning believers to support the madness of Babylon, genocide, and ethnic cleansing. This is a tragic mistake and a horrible sin. If Jesus were to walk the streets of Jerusalem today, would He not tell a parable of The Good Palestinian? Would He not speak of those who refused to come to His banquet and to replace them with Palestinians off the street?
And what would Jesus say to those who support the murder of thousands of Palestinian children, many of whom were shot deliberately by sniper fire? We need not resort to guesswork, for we read in Matt. 18:6,
6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in Me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
The Israeli terrorists responsible for killing children will have to answer to God Himself. And the Christian Zionists who support such atrocities will have to answer to God, too. But who will be more accountable, an Israeli who is fully ignorant of the New Covenant, or a Christian who claims to be under the New Covenant?
Gen. 36:9 speaks of “Esau, the father of the Edomites in Mount Seir.” When Jacob tricked his blind father into giving him the dominion mandate by lying to him (Gen. 27:19), Esau asked his father if there was anything to be given to him. Isaac then gave him a promise in Gen. 27:40 KJV, “it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his [Jacob’s] yoke from off thy neck.”
Isaac prophesied that somehow Esau would “have the dominion” at some point in the future. He did not say how this would come about, but it was a sure word of prophecy.
Esau-Edom coveted the land of Canaan thereafter. Centuries later, when the Babylonians deported the people of Judah, the Edomites said, “Now is our chance to regain our lost inheritance!” Ezekiel 35:10 KJV prophesies,
10 Because thou hast said, “These two nations and these two countries [Israel and Judah] shall be mine, and we will possess it…”
The Edomites were carnal and did not understand the sovereignty of God. For this reason, they refused to wait for God to give them the dominion in His own time. (This is confirmed in Ezekiel 36:5.) Instead, they sought to obtain their lost inheritance through bloodshed (Ezekiel 35:6).
Even later, Malachi 1:4 prophesied that Edom would “return and build the desolate places.” God affirmed that “They shall build, but I will throw down.” In other words, Edom was to return to the old land and “build,” but at some point God would “throw down” that which they had built.
The Edomites were conquered by Judah in 126 B.C. and were allowed to remain in their land if they would convert to Judaism. They chose to convert to Judaism and thus they became Jews. No historian disputes this fact.
The Judah-Edom merger meant that Edom ceased to be a nation separate from the Jews. Hence, the only way the prophecies could be fulfilled would be if some portion of the Jews became Zionists. This happened a century ago.
Classic Judaism had determined centuries ago that the Jews were not to return to the old land until the coming of the Messiah. Zionism broke that well-established tradition. In fact, Lev. 26:40-42 makes it clear that the Israelites were NOT allowed to return from captivity until they had ceased from their “hostility” toward God. In this case, they were hostile toward the One sent by God.
The point is that the Jews were not allowed to return as Judahites until they first repented and turned to Christ. Yet because of Isaac’s prophecy, they were allowed to return as Edomites. Those who broke with traditional Judaism and returned as Zionists fulfilled the prophecies about Edom. They have indeed built a nation, but God says He will throw it all down in the end.
Therefore, Christians who point to the state itself as proof that Zionism is fulfilling prophecy are only half right. In 1948 the dominion was returned to Esau-Edom, as Isaac prophesied, but it is not the fulfillment of prophecies given to Israel.
The state called Israel is actually Edom which has claimed the two nations and two countries (Israel and Judah), according to Ezekiel’s prophecy. Its bloodthirsty nature is clearly seen today by the whole world in its plan to commit genocide against women and children.
Jesus said that we will be judged according to the same standard of measure by which we judge others (Matt. 7:2). This is the law of equal weights and measures (Lev. 19:35, 36). So when God said in Mal. 1:4 that He would tear down what the Zionists have built, He was probably referring to this law. Even as the Israelis have treated the Palestinians, so also will God judge the Israelis by the same measure.
In Gen. 35:23, a prophecy was given to Rebecca before she gave birth to the twins (Jacob and Esau), “the older shall serve the younger.” Esau was older, so it was revealed that the birthright would be given to Jacob, not to Esau. Years later, when Isaac intended to pass the birthright to Esau, Jacob thought God needed some help fulfilling His word, so he lied in order to give God some assistance.
Jacob had not yet learned that one cannot fulfill prophecy in an unlawful manner. The law gave the firstborn certain rights (Deut. 21:16, 17). He could not be disinherited except for lawful cause, such as we see later in the case of Reuben (1 Chron. 5:1).
Jacob prevented Esau from proving himself to be unworthy of the birthright. I believe that Isaac understood this when he told Esau that he would be given the dominion in the future. The divine purpose was to give Esau time to become unworthy so that he could be disinherited in a lawful manner.
When Esau-Edom was given the birthright and dominion in 1948, it gave Esau the time he needed. It is clear today that Esau was given a 76-year period of time until 2024, and that this would be the time when the true inheritors would receive the birthright.
The war in Gaza itself has clearly provided Esau with the opportunity to prove himself one way or the other. The sheer savagery of his genocide has vindicated God’s charge of bloodthirstiness. This law is stated in Lev. 17:10 KJV,
10 And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood, I will even set My face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
On the surface, this law forbids consuming blood, because blood was for atonement, not for food or drink. But on a spiritual level, it was a law forbidding bloodthirstiness in one’s treatment of others. We see this application in Ezekiel 35:6.
So Paul tells us in Rom. 7:14 that “the law is spiritual.”
Bloodthirsty people will be cut off (excommunicated) from among his people. In an Old Testament context, this means that a man of the tribe of, say, Judah, would no longer be considered a Jew (Judahite). Being a member of the tribe was not guaranteed by one’s genealogy. It was subject to the provisions of the law.
By the same token, a foreigner was allowed to join himself to the covenant with Israel and become a member of the tribe of his choice. This is made clear in Isaiah 56:6-8. Paul understood this as well in Rom. 2:28, 29, where he bases one’s citizenship as a “Jew” upon one’s ability to praise God. (Judah means “praise.”) In this case, one praises God through heart circumcision, not by a physical act.
Ultimately, the sons of God are the children of Abraham, and these praise God through heart circumcision. Only then does one prove to be worthy of receiving the birthright and its inheritance.
